A sump pump that isn't working correctly can give you a false sense of security right up until water starts entering your basement. Common sump pump problems include a stuck or failed float switch that prevents the pump from activating, a burnt-out motor, a clogged intake screen, a frozen or blocked discharge line, or a check valve that's allowing water to flow back into the pit after each cycle. Water Heater Co. diagnoses sump pump issues in Roslyn Heights, NY accurately and repairs them before your next heavy rain event, not after.
We test the full system during every sump pump repair call not just the component that seems to be failing. A pump that runs but doesn't move water effectively may have a discharge line issue rather than a motor problem. A pump that runs constantly may have a float switch that's positioned incorrectly. We find the actual cause, fix it properly, and test the system through a complete activation cycle before we leave. If the repair doesn't make financial sense relative to the pump's age and condition, we'll tell you and we can replace it the same day if needed.
